Kathrin von Rechenberg has been living and working
in Beijing since 2000. She originally comes from Munich,
Germany, where she completed a ladies´ tailor apprenticeship.
Then she was drawn to the world's fashion capital: Paris.
There she put her skills to the test at the Haute
Couture workshop of Jacques Fath, following up with study of Fashion
Design and modelism at the Paris Couture School(l'ECOLE DE LA
CHAMBRE SYNDICALE
DE LA COUTURE PARISIENNE). After that she spent four years as
a modelist and patternmaker with various Paris Couturiers such
as Jean-Louis Scherrer, Emanuelle Khan, Christian Dior, Christian
Lacroix, and Chanel.
She came to China looking for a very special
material “teasilk” - which became the basis for her
very own label.
